last nite a channel aired the last fight between ram n ravan, and I was curious to note what ravan had said to lakshman before dying.
following are a few of the things the mahapundit taught lakshman:
1. be humble before your teacher - lakshman had to bow at his feet to get the gyaan
2. 'jo sankalp lo, usey turant poora karo' - if you promise to do something, do it immediately. ravan never got a chance to make the golden stairway direct to heaven.
3. 'shatru ko kabhi chota ya kamzor mat samjho, aur apni kamzori kisi ko mat batao, apne chote bhai ko bhi nahi' - never take your enemies forgranted or consider them weak - and don't even tell your brother about your weaknesses. vibhashan, his own brother, told ram the secret of ravan's death.
4. 'rajneeti sada praja ke hit mein honi chahiye - apne swarth ke liye nahi' -- ugh! only if our politicians understand this! i wud love ravan to be my next pm for this!
5. 'ahankar andhkaar ka prateek hai aur tumhare patan ka karan' - arrogance and ego are the doorway to your fall - keep them as far from you as possible!
and life lives on...
yup. odd as it may be, one month sees a deadly comet being hurled at me - the next enlivens my entire life.
